Mouthguards

At Lake Country Dental we recommend that a mouthguard be part of every athlete's gear, no matter the sport. Parents should make sure their children are protected. Even adults and weekend athletes need to protect their smiles and preserve their health. Wear a mouthguard at all times when playing sports. It’s always best to wear a mouthguard custom-fitted by your dentist, especially if you wear bridges or braces. Don’t wear removable appliances like retainers when playing sports.

If you have any questions about dental health for athletes, please call our office at (855) 337-0099 and we’ll be happy to help you find the answers.

How Does Toothpaste Work?

Tetrasodium pyrophosphate (TSPP) in toothpaste removes calcium and magnesium from the saliva so they can't form tartar on your teeth. Some toothpastes contain potassium nitrate to build protection against the pain of sensitive teeth. Baking soda adds foam and scouring ability and can fight acid-loving bacteria.

Peroxide toothpastes not only lighten the teeth but also kill germs. Finally, sweeteners and flavorings are added to mask the taste so that you'll use it. Call Lake Country Dental at (855) 337-0099 and we’ll be happy to recommend a toothpaste that’s right for you.

Good Dental Health Can Help Prevent Stroke and Heart Attack

Sure, not getting regular checkups may make you less kissable, but did you know that studies have linked heart attacks and strokes to gum disease associated with poor oral hygiene? A trip to Lake Country Dental every six months could reduce your risk of serious health problems.

Don’t wait any longer to schedule a checkup with Dr. Ray Snider. Call our office today at (855) 337-0099.
